The most awaited and cute family programme is about to stage at CCM! The popular, funny and childish Japanese TV character, Maruko, her family and friends, will bring joy to grown-ups and children throughout a great kiddy musical. Imagine that the nine-year-old Maruko plays the role of Cinderella at school? What laughable pranks will happen? Through puppets and singing the Japanese Hikosen Theatre Company will bring the TV animations life onstage, dynamically dubbed by HK pop stars. The troupe presented Treasure Island, in 2007, and Peter Pan in 2004 at CCM’s packed houses being well-known by Macao audience.
Combining Maruko, her friends and the lasting fairytale Cinderella in one show will be for certain memorable and enchanting for all. She often uses adult-like language to express her child-like feelings as Calvin in the series Calvin and Hobbes. In fact she talks, feels and lives just as real kids do. One day, the enchanted "Cinderella" is about to be presented in a big event at school and Maruko’s best friend, Tamae, cannot play as Cinderella as was assigned to because she hurt her legs when trying to save Maruko from bee’s attack. In return, Maruko had to pick up the challenge of being Cinderella, acting, singing and dancing...
Maruko was written by Momoko Sakura in manga style in the 1970’s and was later adapted into TV series and broadcasted since 1990 in Japan and since 1995 in Hong Kong, being a popular hit, reaching the movies and games industry as well. The animation character, Maruko, crossover generations since she was born and nowadays still entertains both children and adults. Come and have fun!!!
