從幾個世紀以來patuá(土生土語)是澳門土生葡人的日常用語，但時至今日會說這種語言的人數寥寥無幾。Patuá主要是受葡文、馬來語及廣東語影響而演變而成。根據教科文組織之報告，patuá正處於瀕臨完全消失的嚴峻狀況。而在本紀錄片內會為你展示今天patuá所面臨的情況。澳門一個在發展上經歷很大變化的小城，尤其是在回歸後這十年變化最大。一群充滿熱誠去推動patuá的人，希望以他們的努力使patuá得以保存，但他們的力量又是否足夠？

 

Durante vários séculos, o patuá macaense era a língua multicultural falada pelos descendentes dos portugueses em Macau, a comunidade macaense. Nos dias de hoje, poucos falam, fluentemente, este crioulo e da UNESCO vem o alerta para o perigo da sua extinção. Este documentário retrata a realidade actual do patuá de Macau, apresentando os poucos macaenses que ainda falam o idioma diariamente, para além de um grupo de entusiastas que tenta manter viva a língua através das artes performativas. Serão os seus esforços suficientes para garantir a sobrevivência do patuá?

 

For several centuries, Macanese patuá was the multicultural language spoken by the Portuguese descendents in Macao, the Macanese community. Nowadays only a few speak this Creole fluently and UNESCO warns of its danger of extinction. This documentary portrays today’s reality of Patuá in Macau, introducing the remaining few Macanese people that still speak the language in their daily lives, and a group of enthusiasts that tries to keep the language alive through performing arts.  Are their efforts enough to guarantee the patuá survival?
