頂級劍客需要頂級鑄劍師，出色的鋼琴家亦需要出色的調音師；郎朗、Brendel Buchbinder和Pierre-Laurent Aimard等碰上Stefan Knüpfer，就是此美哉光景。看Knüpfer書呆子的樣子，實是Steinway and Sons駐維也納的首席音色工程師，堪稱鋼琴百曉生，耳朵厲害之處是聽到音符的呼吸，用卡片、網球定音不在話下；看他與Aimard錄音的過程堪稱sexy非常，Aimard永不滿足地要求，他在維也納演奏樓內上下奔走，一直是謙卑和信心滿滿，向完美之音符鍥而不捨尋去。

Longe de ser um documentário técnico sobre afinação de pianos, este filme apaixonado, vivo e delicioso, vencedor do Prémio da Crítica no Festival de Cinema de Locarno, mostra-nos, de uma forma calorosa e bem-humorada, a relação entre os pianistas e o técnico. Ficará maravilhado e perdido de riso com alguns dos truques de Knüpfer.

Far from a documentary about the technicalities of pianos, this passionate, delightful and energetic film, the Critics’ Prize winner at Locarno Film Festival, shows the relationship between the pianists and the technician with warmth and humour. Some of the stunts Knüpfer pull will leave you amazed and in stitches.

 

 

別誤會，這電影本身很好，但更有趣的話，不妨找法國導演蘇堤十多年前的《今生情未了》來比對。《今生》是劇情片，這是紀錄片，主角都是調琴師；《今生》調小提琴，這部調的是鋼琴，無論如何都是幕後的無名英雄。調琴師要解決不同演奏家的要求，一句「音不夠圓」，調琴師便得駛出看家本領。困難在於每次演奏的環境、器材因素不盡相同，如何貫徹音樂的「色調」，便是調琴師最大的挑戰。「精準」、「沉著」是他們的關鍵詞，這部電影要講的，其實是修練。
