Macao Orchestra Music Director and Principal Conductor Lio Kuokman will be the first to greet the audience in a brand-new look at the opening concert of the 2023-24 season, leading the orchestra to perform Dmitri Shostakovich’s passionate Festive Overture and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s melodious, touching Volcalise.

This concert also features Der Rosenkavalier suite by German composer Richard Strauss, a work which weaves with rich orchestral colours and the most moving melodies that can make one experience the tremendously dramatic power of the opera.

Last but not the least, Korean pianist Yekwon Sunwoo – a gold medalist of the 15th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, one of the most prestigious international competition, will preform Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor. An amazing season opening concert not to be missed!
