Macau Jazz Upcomer Concert – Gregory Wong Quintet
Established in 2010, Macau Jazz Promotion Association (MJPA) has been nurturing local talents who studied abroad in America, Canada, Holland, Singapore, Thailand, Japan and Thailand. Recently the Macau scene is renewed with the return of these talents. Gregory Wong, who joined MJPA in 2013, went to Taiwan for advance studies on music, and got his bachelor and master degrees at Chinese Culture University and Fu Jen Catholic University respectively. Wong is the first Macau brass player who received master degree on jazz performance as well. He has mastered the jazz trombone styles and will be performing with his quintet (saxophonist Liu Tang Wen, pianist Gwo Jun Yu, double bassist Liu Yu Jia and drummer Lin Jia En) at Macau Culutral Centre Black Box.
