SOLO SYMPHONY - May Poon Piano Recital
Join Macau renowned pianist May Ho-Tung Poon in this romantic and passinate recital! Program includes Schumann’s Symphonic Etudes, Ravel’s Jeux d’eau and Chopin’s Scherzo No. 1.
Being the first named Steinway Honorary Young Teacher, May Poon is an adjunct music faculty of Macao Polytechnic University, President of Macau Greater Bay Area Music & Art Association, Music Education Director of Dr. Art Education Center, guest keyboardist of Macao Orchestra, adjudicator in different piano competitions. She holds Master of Music degree at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and was the award recipient of different competitions, including the Kayabuki Ongakudo International Competition, Brussels International Music Competition.
May has performed throughout North America and Asia. She has appeared in festivals and concert series such as the New York Wind Band Festival, New York’s International Keyboard Institute and Festival, Troy-Hayner Cultural Center Chamber Music Series, Schuster Performing Arts Center Series, Gulangyu Concert Hall Series, Hong Kong Musica dal Cuore Series, Macao International Music Festival. Her live performance was broadcasted at China Central Radio-Television General Station, Radio Television Hong Kong and Radio Macau.
This recital is part of the Macau Greater Bay Area Young Artist Series, venue supported by Macao Cultural Centre, organized by the Macau Greated Bay Area Music & Art Associations, co-organized by Macau Piano Technician and Tuner Association, Dr. Art Education Center and sponsored by Tom Lee Music Co. Ltd.
