Co-directed by Han Zhen and Zhou Liya, with Feng Shuangbai as the scriptwriter, the dance theatre ‘Wing Chun’ is based on the idea of the ethnic affinity of the same roots and the self-reliance and self-improvement of the Chinese children portraying the image of ‘Chinese heroes’ represented by the Guangdong martial arts masters. The play opens with the filming of the movie ‘Wing Chun’ by a Shenzhen theatre group. In the movie, ‘Master Ip’ travelled far away from home, embracing the plaque of ‘Wing Chun Tong’ and stepping into the street of martial arts halls, just to open the door of Wing Chun; on the stage set, the cast and crew also travelled to the mountains and the sea with their dreams in their hearts, just to pursue the light in their hearts! ......

The dance theatre ‘Wing Chun’ combines the martial arts moves from the five major kung fu styles Wing Chun, Praying Mantis Fist, Bagua Zhang, Baji Quan and Tai Chi Chuan with the choreographic qualities of classical and modern dance through exquisite choreographic styling and presents them on stage in a realistic and intuitive way, and at the same time, innovatively integrates the national intangible cultural heritage and the folk culture of Lingnan into the theatre, demonstrating the unique charms of the collision of the spirit of dance theatre and the spirit of martial arts.
