Home Sweet Home is an original creation by d' As Entranhas Macau. A transdisciplinary
theater play, based on the anthology "Dobra" by Adília Lopes, fragments
of the book "Os Meus Sentimentos", by Dulce Maria Cardoso, “O Meu
Corpo Humano” by Maria do Rosário Pedreira and excerpts from poems by Isabel
Meirelles, Alexandre O’Neill and Tóssan. The playwright also integrates the
biographical universe of the main actress. Developed through research into
repetitive behaviours of a female figure, the aim of this project is to explore reality
and fiction, proposing a reflection of everyday life, focusing on the pain of
loss and the irremediable intimate loneliness that is beyond the visible. The show
is a vivid portrait of what is lost and what still remains in a woman who lives
alone and isolated and whose existence still translates into the passage of time
lived, the ageing of her own body and the objects that hold her, that would go
around, unfailingly broken, worn out, forgotten. The games of words and meanings
mixed with the fragility of this body "inhabited" by memories, showing us
the beauty and the terrible of the non-sense, the present-absent of the life lived.
An imaginary built on the remains of a childhood never left behind, the impossibility
of love, the inevitable disillusionment and the feeling of loss in the face of
everything, of an adult world never fully understood. An autobiographical fiction
where crossword games, loose phrases and meanings of reality mixed with
the imagined and the interdisciplinary of different areas (theatre, music and
video) deconstructs the usual borders of spectator, actor and scene, fragmenting
the artistic object into different plans.
