Baroque opera performances are a rarity in Macau, and Baroque opera is regarded as a treasure of the Baroque era, showcasing a unique blend of elegance and intricacy.

Coffee Cantata, composed by the renowned German composer Johann Sebastian Bach, often called the "Father of Music," dates back to around 1732–1735. Essentially a miniature comic opera, it is one of Bach's most beloved works. Originally titled Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht ("Be quiet, stop chattering"), the piece is more popularly known by its nickname, Coffee Cantata (BWV 211).

The production has enjoyed great success, including two full-housed performances in Guangzhou, and now, for the first time, the orchestra brings this classic masterpiece to the stage in Macau. Combining refined music with theatrical performance, it promises audiences an unparalleled feast for the senses!
