Life grants us fascinating vistas. Let’s take the stage and swing freely.

Taiwanese choreographer Su Wei-Chia explores new choreographic and physical possibilities with FreeSteps, a ten-year project launched in 2013, depicting and discovering the different forms of a dancing crowd. Using the purely dancing body as material, Su ponders the performer-audience relationship in contemporary dance, aiming to provide an alternative viewing experience.

In 2022, Su collaborated with nearly 100 senior dancers, transforming different life experiences into dance, staging FreeSteps Swinging Years, where they told stories through their bodies. This time, the choreographer visits us bringing a shorter group of ten elderly dancers from Taiwan.

After the last performance, on the 21st of January, it will be time for Dance and Jam, a session that will challenge everyone to step onstage and show their moves.

Remarks:

Any schools interested in holding this performance for their students on 19 January, please contact Ms. Lao for details and registration on 63006009 by 10 January.
